In 2016 Francesca participated in WrICE: China. With co-director David Carlin she travelled to Guangzhou and Yangshou to take part in a writing residency. She was joined by

WrICE (Writers Immersion and Cultural Exchange Program) is a program of reciprocal cultural exchange and cultural immersion focused on writers and writing.  WrICE is an initiative of the non/fictionLab at RMIT University. It is generously supported by the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund. Its festival and media partners include Peril Magazine, Emerging Writers Festival and the Melbourne Writers Festival.

In previous years, WrICE has travelled to Penang, Malaysia and to Vietnam.
