Francesca was awarded an International Writer’s Fellowship at the University of Iowa, City of Iowa, United States. Francesca is a guest of the Nonfiction Writing Program (NWP) in the Department of English. She is doing a reading at the Prairie Lights Bookshop, a radio interview for The Lit Show with Gemma de Choisy, masterclasses with graduate nonfiction students, and a QandA with undergraduate creative non-fiction students.

Francesca also visited the University of Wollongong as part of this fellowship. There she was in a public in-conversation at the South Coast Writers Centre and conducted masterclasses with research and undergraduate students.

This fellowship was awarded by the University of Wollongong and the University of Iowa Nonfiction Workshop thanks to support from the Copyright Agency Cultural Fund.

In 2013 in early September Francesca went to the University of Wollongong for the first leg of her International Writers Fellowship thanks to the University of Wollongong and Copyright Agency. She spoke at the South Coast Writers Centre on Wednesday 4 September with Shady Cosgrove.
